History

The Master of Food Science and Technology Study Program (PS Magister ITP) is one of 26 master's degree programs offered by Udayana University. The proposal preparation process for the establishment of this study program was initiated in January 2011 by a task force consisting of academic staff from the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Udayana University.

After a preparation process lasting approximately 18 months, the proposal to establish this study program was officially approved on May 14, 2012, based on the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia No. 166/E/O/2012. The Master of Food Science and Technology Study Program began admitting students in the 2012/2013 Academic Year and has been accredited "B" under Decree No. 1804/SK/BANPT/Akred/M/V/2019, dated May 28, 2019.

Since 2016, the management unit of the study program has transitioned from the Udayana University Postgraduate Program to the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Udayana University (based on Rector's Decree No. 592/UN14/PP.03.01/2016, dated September 20, 2016). Furthermore, following the issuance of the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education Regulation (Permenristekdikti) No. 33 of 2018 concerning the Naming of Study Programs in Higher Education, a nomenclature adjustment was implemented. Effective from the Even Semester of 2020, the Master of Food Science and Technology Study Program was officially renamed the Master of Food Technology Study Program, Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Udayana University.
